Helmut Newton_Photographer

The Galerie sud-est of the Grand Palais is about to host the first retrospective in France devoted to the tremendous Helmut Newton (1920-2004) since he died. Indeed, from March 24 to June 17, the Paris museum will present the “Newton by Newton” exhibition commissioned by his wife June Newton. Fashion, luxury, voluptuousness, money and power, the visitor will be able to discover the various tones of the photographer’s artwork, more than 200 pictures having been gathered. Next to the shown shots, the Grand Palais will also screen “Helmut by June”, the film directed by June Newton. The exhibition proposes to scan Newton’s world to perceive its elaboration, its less popular dimensions and, finally, its impact on our vision of the modern woman, independent and free.
